C. L. Gillmore’s novel, Uncommon Bond, the first of a two-part sequel, is a narrative romance about passion, love and longing that takes the reader into the conflicting realms of the forbidden and the exciting. Uncommon Bond pulls back the curtain on Rose and Jake, two people who reconnect through Facebook after nearly 40 years of separation. As you read, you float above the pages of Rose’s memories, enter the New World of the computer age and end up looking over her shoulder at the kind of love that only comes along once in a lifetime.

This is the kind of romance that readers will not be able to put down. It’s written for those who remember a time long before the reality of home computers, the Internet and the portable privacy of cell phones. It’s written for those who have also entered this new age with buried feelings and know that it takes a certain courage to use technology to bring them up again. This novel invites others to travel with Rose, into two new frontiers: technology and heart memory.

Fascinated with Facebook, texting and chat rooms, Gillmore weaves a page-turning story about Baby Boomers living and loving in a high tech romance.  Gillmore uses her skills as an award-winning poet by uniquely beginning each chapter with a poem penned by Rose to convey feelings sparked by “talking” with Jake.

The sequel novel, “A Friend Request” will be available in Fall 2012.

“C. L. Gillmore’s book is the present day Bridges of Madison County, this is a terrific read!” – Jerry D. Simmons—Former Time Warner Publishing Executive

“Television was the only screen in the house when Rose and Jake first fell in love. But Rose left Jake. Pay phones became cell phones, letters became email and computer technology put Rose and Jake face-to-face in a love story that is electric, passionate and fated. Leave your keyboards and pick up your eReaders for this adventure in romance!” – Mary L. Holden, editor and writer

Gillmore, a native of Muscatine, Iowa, has lived in Arizona for the past 18 years.
